Editorial Fashion Photographer
children editorial for Babiekins Children Fashion Magazine
I have to say that doing editorial photography work is one of my favorite things, but takes a lot out of me, the work behind it is basically exhausting, but I love editorial, edgy, abstract – just a little different type of photos. To mix editorial and fashion photography with children photography is like taking me to a make believe world or something, it’s such an awesome creative release. This was an editorial I did for Babiekins Magazine that was released in January, I know many of my readers are hot from the bright summer sun, so maybe this will cool you down a little.
I actually used fake snow and took these photos in my studio, the snow I used was from Sno Wonder, it is amazing – seriously, so real, it comes as a powder, you add water and then – poof – real snow. It was a lot of fun… I did a few family shoots with it too, it took a lot of post editing in Photoshop, but oh well, I seem to always have ideas that take me a billion hours in Photoshop.
I loved the “antlers” and “deer” concept for this, my hair artist Charisse Miller is so incredibly talented it is UNREAL, she seems to be ale to do anything – we work so well together and have so much fun. She is local to Utah, so if you ever want amazing hair, whether it be cut, color, up-do, etc. Definitely look her up – WARNING she is super booked out all of the time and travels all over doing hair shows, etc. as she is a Wella Rep (really cool). Her website: http://www.colorbycharisse.com/ Oh and we used the most AMAZING fashion for this shoot, mummymoon I cannot get enough of them, I love, love, love….
Oh I have started messing around photo compositions more and more, it gives you sort of a “Movie Posters” feel which is something I would really like to do. Some people have told me it reminds them of a poster for Narnia or something… this first photo is the one I’m referring to.
