Photographer, Amber Bauerle of Frosted Productions shares her latest photography, specializing in commercial, editorial and fashion photography.

Thanks for visiting my photography blog! For pricing and information go to www.frostedproductions.com. I attempt to keep up to date on it, and have felt more motivated lately... so hopefully will be current eventually. This is a new blog since 2012, thought I would migrate my old posts over, but let's be honest, I don't think it will ever happen - so for now, enjoy my latest (and hopefully greatest). I usually write late at night, so please excuse my punctuality, sometimes I have something to say about a shoot, and other times I'm falling asleep, it's random, but at least you get to see the photos. I'm the only photographer and editor of Frosted Productions (get asked that a lot) - I will have admins help post photos, but I'm the one that always writes the posts - feel free to comment - I love to hear from others. xoxo

An all time favorite shoot – magical photos of a boy and his dog and the story of how I got the photos.

This is one of my all time favorite shoots… and it happened in a matter of minutes.  We were hanging out at home one evening when I got inspired by the storm rolling in…  I saw perfect lighting with a little bit of drama.  My middle child, Hudson was playing his iPad when I ran into our living room telling him to follow me to go get dressed into something.  Acting as a typical 5 year old boy, he was not very excited about a photo shoot – so I bribed him with a new iPad game, I told him “if you come do this shoot with me I will buy you a new iPad game”. THE DEAL WAS DONE.

We raced back to his bedroom and I snagged these amazing overalls by Blu Pony Vintage, I had wanted to do a shoot with him and our dog Piper, so that was in the back of my head.   We then ran into our backyard and climbed the barbed wire fence into the farmers field directly behind us… and there it was… an ugly small dirt hill that I had never even thought about using for photos before – but it just hit me, it was perfect.  I knew the storm was going to hit soon, we had a matter of minutes so I yelled for him to run up the hill and of course Piper immediately followed.

As soon as I started shooting I knew I was capturing magic, and the fact that it was with my own little boy and his dog was too much for me to handle.  As I sat there taking the photos it was silent, I didn’t have to tell him anything, he was playing with his dog and I was there to capture the moment. I was literally sobbing while I took these sweet photos that I will cherish for the rest of my life.  I actually get emotional just remembering that sweet moment – those amazing 15 minutes where I was able to capture the sweetness, and the purity of childhood with my little boy and his dog.
