Family Photography by Utah Family Photographer, Amber Bauerle | J & A Family

This was a family photography session I did last summer, I love this field, I love this family.  ”Young” families make the best candid portraits, and that’s a lot of times your only option when you have kids under the age of 5 running around… but that’s my favorite type of photography anyway. This session was a quick 30 minute Family Photography Session, many times kids won’t last longer than that, so I have to be on my toes ready to take the photos as the kids will sort of let you know when they are done.

Utah Children Photographer | Green & Pink

These photos are actually from a family photo session, my previous post depending on how you are viewing my blog (looking at all of the posts or looking at a category).  Anyway, I thought she was SO beautiful, and although we took these photos in 5 minutes before the family ones, there is just something that I really loved about these photos, the green door, her pink dress, the colors with her beautiful skin coloring, gorgeous.

What a fun family!  One thing I love about my job is I get to make so many new friends, hear about their lives, and help them capture their special moments and interactions with each other. I have not done any head swaps on this shoot yet, most of the time in when it comes to family shoots, head swaps are common to get everybody smiling at the camera, but when it comes to extended family photos – it’s usually impossible to get everybody smiling perfectly at the camera all at once when there is little kids involved. :)

This was kind of an extended family, but only 10 people, so not too bad.  I currently don’t do large extended family shoots as it is hard for me to maintain creative control of the situation, but just one kid married, etc. is usually doable.

I am totally in love with the antique shop photos and the whole junk yard feel, etc.

I KNOW I post a lot of photos, I don’t post all of them from any session believe it or not, but I think it’s important to not just post “my favorites from a session” but give the reader a feel of what types of photos I do with each unique session, how many, individuals, variety, etc.

Witney Carson from So You Think You Can Dance – White on white on white – the horse, the hair the dress….

Witney Carson | Utah Senior Pictures

witney carson senior portrait photography session

I have to say, I am totally obsessed with this senior photo shoot. When I have something in my head and it comes to life in the exact way I wanted it to, it is the best thing ever. When Witney called me we talked about some ideas and the horse thing just stuck. I was thinking something “whimsical” feeling and wanted a white horse to go with her white hair and then have her wear a cream/white dress. Well, Witney brought exactly what I was envisioning for the clothing, she did great.

She had mentioned that her Grandpa owned horses so I just assumed she had ridden before, nope, she had never even been on a horse! Her natural grace and beauty overshadowed any insecurities she had on the horse. She was so amazing to work with and I had so much fun.

There is something magical and whimsical about a white horse, she looks like she is in a fairytale.  Thanks to Maddy who is the horse, Willow’s owner… she was so patient and willing to do whatever we needed.  She was actually standing in some of the shots, but I took her out… you would never know though.  I hope you enjoy these as much as I do!  Love you Wit!

A children photography session that has fall colors you will not believe are real, I still can’t believe it myself, and I was there.

leave the parents at home, children photography session

I cannot believe the fall colors in this shoot.  When I found this spot this past Fall, I about died, I was screaming and jumping (really it was bad).  I was excited about the beautiful paths and Fall colors and didn’t think it could get better but kept walking and then I see this beautiful field that had the most beautiful red, orange and yellow fall colors on trees surrounding it.

This shoot was originally supposed to be with the whole family but at the last minute their dad couldn’t come and so we decided to do the shoot with just the kids.  It was fun, I think they got a workout because I made them run through the field a hundred times.  I also love when children, teens or whatever hold hands it is so cute, but that age of “children” isn’t really into “holding hands”.  Well, they still did for me a little. ;)

Take a second and look at this first shot – those colors are real, I really had never seen anything like it, for all the trees to be in full autumn bloom without leaves that had fallen very much – amazing.  I also love in this photo how the sun just barely touches the tops of their hair.

Engagement Photography photo slide shows of the most editorial, beautiful couple!

l+j engagement photography video slide shows

Wow…. I really could do engagement shoots every single day. I love how “in love” couples are when they are engaged… not that it changes when they are married for years (well maybe a little.)   :)

I love music, I love photos to music, having years of dance training, choreographing and coaching allows me to “choreograph” the photos to music.  You will know what I mean if you have seen my photo slide shows.  I can’t wait to edit their wedding day videography, such a stunningly beautiful couple.

These videos are so fun to play during a reception, open house, luncheon, etc.  It’s also fun to add dating photos to them as well and then have bridal photos all looping on a DVD playing over and over.

All of my wedding packages come with free DVD slideshows of the engagement, bridals and wedding photos for FREE!  Just a little bonus to have…  If you are interested in booking a wedding with us, make sure to fill out our wedding form to get prices and a call from me to go over the details!

sadie is turning 4 – children photography session

I love this shoot, Sadie is so cute and fun.  She is actually only 3 years old (almost 4), she seems a lot older to me, I think she may be taller than my 4 year old though.  She was my little buddy, we kind of just went off and did our own thing, and she was great!  I even told her a princess story about “Princess Sadie” and her magical glitter (I think that’s how it went), so she would hold very still and look at me for some of her close ups. :)  A lot of multi-tasking while shooting manually, thinking about all of my settings, lighting, etc. trying to get her to look at the camera and then also thinking up a princess story at the same time to keep her still – not bad…. I think it worked though, I have to say these pics are just beautiful, and so candid – my favorite.

I was able to sneak a few shots of her little brother and sister too.
