What to expect when booking a photogaphy appointment with Utah Baby & Newborn Photographer, Frosted Productions
Come relax and enjoy your beautiful new baby while we take some photos. It is very low key and comfortable for the baby and everybody. Don't stress out, you will be able to feed, change, cuddle and whatever else you normally do with your new precious babe. We work around your baby's schedule, so the session can be as short as 1 1/2 hours or as long as 4 hours, it can be messy or clean, your baby makes the rules and we will go with it!

Newborn Baby Photographer, Frosted Productions: Session Info & Pricing
YOU WILL GET EVERYTHING YOU HAVE EVER WANTED WITH OUR NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY PACKAGE!
Newborn Photography Package including ALL digital images: $450, includes mother and father. $25 extra for each sibing if you would like photos with your new baby with siblings.
Includes:
- Photographer's creativity, time and talent and all of the digital images with copyright release!
- 25 artistically edited high resolution digital images all in color, black and white and then Amber edits some in vintage type tones as well, plus all of the unedited digital images from the shoot. You usually end up with 100-200 digital newborn photos (50 are edited because of the color, black and white, sepia versions, etc.). You will be able to download all of them right to your computer with just one click! You have full permission to print, share, etc.
- 2-4 hour newborn photography session. Are you thinking, "what?!!!" Well yes, we are not one of those photographers that you just stop in and get a couple of quick shots regardless if your baby is crying, etc. A great Utah newborn photographer is going to spend the time to get those amazing baby photos for you and your sweet newborn baby, it is a process.
- We can do your newborn photos in our studio in Highland, Utah County, Utah or outside (of course if it is the middle of the summer), we can come to your home as well ($75 extra fee for at home shoots as we bring our photography lighting, etc.). Call us and we can help you decide if you are not sure what you want.
- Photo slideshow to music of all of your edited newborn photos uploaded online for you to share with all of your friends and family. Have you seen newborn baby portrait photography scrolling in and out to music? There is something extra special about the feeling you get while watching them. It is a treasure for you to have. If you want actual DVD's created for you it is a $25 fee for the first one, then $10 for any additional after that. If you do a Maternity Session with us, then we will add those photos to the DVD as well and you get 3 DVD's for free. See the Maternity, Newborn Photography Before & After option above under "oh so special".
- Selection of TONS of props, newborn baby wraps, hammocks, baskets, vintage props, urban props, blankets, hats, booties, bows, etc. As a Utah baby photographer specializing in Salt Lake City & Utah County portrait photography, we have spent thousands of dollars on our newborn photography props for our clients!
- Amazing Utah photo studio options! We have a studio with TONS of photography backdrops and props for those cute photos with the babies wrapped up laying in baskets, wood floors, etc. BUT we also have a studio setup if you want a your baby on a bed with white sheets, etc. click here to see what these beautiful newborn baby photos look like if you don't already know about these types of shoots. If you want BOTH studio settings it is an additional $50.00. We would start in one photo studio, then go to another room for the second photo studio to do the other newborn photos. So you would be getting two completely different looks!
- Free photography RUSH fee! What does this mean? Well, normally for all other packages we charge a $50 rush fee if you want your photos sooner than the normal turn around (which is 3-6 weeks, depending on the type of shoot). You will have all of your final edited cute baby photos back to you in 1 week with our Newborn Photography Package! We are not kidding! There are not many Utah photographers that will do this without charging extra, but we know that new mother's are anxious about getting their newborn announcements out. So they can show off their cute new baby!
- We do design custom baby birth announcements if you would like, $35 design fee and printed directly through us. We like to handle all of the printing of cards, announcements, etc. for any type of Utah photography we do because we can make sure they are formatted the right way, nothing is cropped off, etc. We do not design cards and announcements unless the printing is done through us, we have learned the hard way that sending customers cards to print themselves sometimes doesn't end up good as every vendor crops photos and cards differently. However, you do have permissions to print your newborn photos, so you can put your photos in any layouts that other vendors have, such as Tiny Prints.
- Price DOES include photos with mommy and daddy, but if you want any of your other children at the baby photography shoot, then it is $25.00 for each additional child (immediate family members only).
- We have an assistant at every Newborn Baby Photography Shoot, this is to help put the mother at ease and not make her feel that she has to be getting up and down every second, our assistant is also helping clean up messes, holding little heaters, etc.
- Photography Pre-consultation call, where we get to know you, find out if you are looking for anything specific, maybe you have a hobbie that you and your husband do together that will give Amber a creative idea for a different baby photography prop or look, photography backdrop, etc.
- Sneak Peek of your photos early! If you are a member of Facebook, you will get a sneek peek of a few photos from your session just 1-3 days after you session!
- Facebook album of your final edited stunning newborn baby photos, already formatted and loaded to Facebook (in low resolution for web viewing purposes), so you can show that cute new little baby off to all of your friends!
- $50 print credit on print orders of $750 or more.
- Artistic editing from one of Utah's best Baby Photographers! Amber is so good in Photoshop, that she will spend the time to take the yellow out of your new baby's eyes (the white part is often yellow), soften the skin coloring because most babies do look orangy or yellow, especially in photos. Lots of new babies can have little scratches, or red cute little zits on their face, Amber will take those out as well. Amber can also put your newborn baby inside a flower or different background using her green screen, explained more in our Newborn and Baby Photography pricing page (link at the bottom of this).
- 6 month online gallery! You can send to all of your friends and family for them to view and even download your cute baby photos individually in full quality, so you don't have to worry about emailing photos.
There is SO much information when it comes to our Newborn Photography Package, because you get SO MUCH with a our Baby Photography sessions! And don't forget to check the "newborn baby photography q&a" tab above to see additional details (when to book, what to wear, etc.)! We hope to see you soon!
Special Utah Newborn Photography Packages:
This maternity & newborn photography package is designed for "soon to be mothers" that would like a pregnancy photography session and a newborn photography session with us. This is what you get:
- Everything included in our Maternity Photography Session + 3 additional edited digital images.
- Everything included in our Newborn Photography Session + 5 additional edited digital images.
*So you are basically ending up between the two sessions with 4-6 hours of shooting time with the photographer, 80-100 artistically edited digital images (43-50 shots, but that turns into 80-100 because of the different black and white, vintage or sepia renditions you get). Plus you get all of the unedited digital images as well, usually you will end up with 300-700 digital images between the two shoots.
- 3 Free DVD's put to music of the edited photos from your maternity photography session combined with the photos from your newborn photography session.
- Free custom birth announcement design (normally $35 as stated in our Newborn Photography section), if printing is done through us, we require this on all announcements and cards with all our photography sessions.
This is a very special photography experience and opportunity to get some beautiful professional portraits of your newborn baby taking his or her's first breaths. From taking photos of the clock, to the doctor's, your hospital room, even the waiting room outside... It's a birth "story", Utah Baby Photographer, Amber will capture every single moment for you. The babie's father or grandmother or whoever you decide to have in the room with you will be "in" the photographs instead of taking the photos. Amber stays off to the side, out of your way, you won't feel "weird" or uncomfortable having her there, she doesn't talk during these sessions, just documents with her photography skills to capture these beautiful moments for you with our new son or daughter being born. Of course all of the angles are not showing anything graphic, so don't worry about that either.
- You call us when you go into labor, even if it's 3 a.m. and then you let us know when you are expected to deliver and Amber usually is there an hour or two before even if she is in the waiting room waiting to come in (she will get photos of you before, but then will stay out of your way until there is more for her to photograph).
Includes:
- All digital images, 35 of which are edited in color and black and white. Usually you can expect around 500 digital photos.
- Includes 3 DVD's to music.
- $50 off if you book also book the "Before & After Maternity Newborn Photography Package."
- $50 off of our largest photography book.
With any newborn baby photography session with us you get $50 off any children photography session for your newborn baby for their entire first year! If you wanted to get 6 month baby photos, you would get $50 off of the session fee, or if you do 3, 6, 9, 12 months, you get $50 off every single session for your new baby! Basically any baby photography session you do with us for your new baby during that first year gives you $50 off each one!
*This is only valid for your new baby, does not include family photography sessions or any other photography sessions that are not a child photography session for that child. And our Limited Editions are excluded as well.
- 30 minute studio session in our Highland, Utah photography studio.
- 10 artistically edited digital images with full copyright release. Plus all of the unedited digital images as well.

Utah Baby & Newborn Photography Q&A, by our very talented, Utah Baby Photographer!
Utah County & Salt Lake City Newborn Photographer, Amber Bauerle prefers to take photos of babies when they are 3-10 days old. This is when they are still sleepy and "rubbery" ;) so we can put them in those cute newborn baby poses that we all love!
As soon as you know that you want to schedule a newborn baby photography appointment with us, don't wait a second longer! We will tentatively schedule you on your due date week, so if you were due on June 2nd, we would put you no our calendar as a possible newborn photo shoot for two weeks before your due date and 2 weeks after. Basically anytime you deliver your new baby, we will accomodate. But we can only put so many newborn appointments on our calendar to make sure we are available for every new baby at the right time. So your newborn photography appointment is not "tentative", but the date is obviously! We don't want expecting mothers to have to stress that they will miss their photography appointment or not have it happen at the right time, not to worry after scheduling your Newborn Photography appointment with us, we will make sure that your photo session happens within the first 10 days of birth.
As far as clothing goes for your newborn baby, all we need is your cute brand new baby. Make sure when you do bring him or her that they are in something easy to take off, so if they are sleeping from the car drive over you can easily take their clothes off for the photos.
For Mom and Dad both wear long sleeve black shirts, or both wear long sleeve white shirts. If you are doing a baby session with our bed, white sheets, etc. than wear something relaxed and comfortable like in this Newborn Photography Example.
We have a huge selection of newborn baby photography props, backdrops, hats, diaper covers, etc. to choose from and of course if you would like to bring any bows, hats, booties, etc. feel free. But stay away from bringing any "clothing" we like to our newborn photographs to be of your baby without any clothes on.
There is no right or wrong to this. Of course you would only do a newborn photography session in Utah if it was outside in the middle of the summer. Doing your newborn session at your home is a beautiful and easy option as well, it is a $75 extra fee for this. Amber is considered to be one of Utah's best newborn photographers, and has a very high quality standard. Some homes may have decent natural lighting for some shoots if it was at the perfect time and if your bed, etc. was in the perfect place, but Amber doesn't like to take the chance that there wouldn't be appropriate lighting for your newborn shoot, so she brings different lighting and equipment and has an assistant there. Because of the experience Amber has had as a professional portrait photographer in general she is very good at making all of her photos have a natural light feel. Many Utah photographers will use flashes or harsh studio lights that would not give you the sweet, soft newborn baby feel you are probably after.
If your baby will take a binki then bring some for sure. Bring bottles of breast milk or formula if your baby will take a bottle it will help the newborn photo shoot move along faster. And of course diapers and wipes!
